Those who know us know we call our trips expeditions for a reason - so this time we want to reward all our adventurous souls with something a little more restorative in nature.
We are collaborating with Rowie Geraerts for a freedive and yoga retreat in one of the most well-known freedive locations in the world. This is a trip to slow down, relax, and focus on developing your skills as a freediver.
Each day will include a line dive, yoga, and a practical theory session, suitable for those who would like to complete a course or those who would simply like to train or dive for fun.
We are also excited to announce that on this trip we will be offering our first-ever Wave 3 course, with our founder Liv having recently become certified.
We will be partnering with the very well known Apnea Bali Freedive School as our home base for all things courses. Walking distance from your accomodation and to our daily dive site right out the front, this is the dream location for tapping into your aquatic mammal.
Rowie is a powerhouse of the yoga world, having spent the last 15 years traveling the world and teaching yoga. With a passion for Yin Yoga, Vinyasa Flow Yoga, and seeing the yoga of everyday life, Rowie lives by the mantra ‘Everything is Yoga’. She is most known for her ability to welcome new yogis to the practice whilst bringing experienced practitioners to new depths. Her classes are modern and authentic, blending her teachings from the East with the West.
Rowie currently lives in Japan, where she owns Shizen Collective, a cafe and yoga studio, and regularly runs yoga retreats in the beautiful ski town of Nozawa Onsen. Recently, she’s been exploring her practice through breathwork and freediving - a return to the ocean and a lived reminder that everything is yoga.
Rowie is a 500 E-RYT and has completed over 1000 hours in certified training, studying with some of the most esteemed teachers across the world. She hosts and teaches her own 200hr and 500hr Yoga teacher training courses as well as continued education advanced courses. The combination of her calm, gentle nature and effortless sequencing makes her classes a joy to be in for students of all levels.
We are so excited for you to feel the magic of Rowie each day!
The North East Coast of Bali is a freedivers paradise, with access to great visibility, warm temperatures, and endless depth right off the shore. Tulamben is a freediving and scuba destination known for its unique volcanic landscape and steep underwater drop-offs.
The USAT Liberty Wreck - Located just 30 meters from the beach, the wreck measures an impressive 120m on a steeply sloping sandy bottom, with its top just 3 meters below the water surface. Considered one of the best beach entry dive sites in Bali, the wreck of the USAT Liberty is great for starters and seasoned freedivers. Its multiple swim-throughs make it one of the most fun discoveries when free diving!
The photos above are some old photos of Founder Liv exploring the wreck after her Master Freedive Course back in 2017.

Already a certified freediver? Not interested in a course and just want to dive for fun or refine some skills? No matter what level you are, beginner to instructor, you will be in freedive heaven!
We can tailor a specific training program to suit you for the trip, or simply come and bliss out in the blue with us.
Are you new to the world of Freediving? Or are you already comfortable in the water and want to learn more about the safety, buddying, and physiology behind Freediving?
There is no better way than immersing yourself completely on expedition!
To complete your Beginners Freediver Course with us whilst in Bali, you will need to join theory sessions, confined water sessions, as well as open water deep dives where you will put it all together. This will all be weaved amongst the itinerary.
Ready to take your freediving journey to the next level? Your Advanced Freediver Course is a big step up from the Beginners Course, aimed at really challenging your breath hold, technique, and equalisation.
Why not challenge yourself on expedition where we will be living and breathing freediving and yoga for seven full days?
The Wave 3 Course is for those who are mentally and physically ready for depth. This course gives you all the skills you need to get as deep as you want. Be prepared for in-depth theory, new equalisation techniques, mastering relaxation, and adapting your body to depth. There is no better way to adapt yourself for depth than a full immersive week.
Meet our dear friend and instructor Julia Haysom. Julia is a water baby, who has spent the last few years travelling South America, working as an instructor, safety diver and teaching at a freedive school in Nicaragua. Originally from Melbourne, she found her way to Lord Howe Island and into the lives of Liv and George in 2021. We could not be more excited to have her join us on this trip!
Georgie’s gentle nature and soft approach are the perfect qualities for those who are venturing into the world of freediving either for the first time or to find their gills again. The ocean wasn’t always a safe place for Georgie and she has worked through her own challenges on the line to bring you layers of wisdom that will greatly benefit your enjoyment for freediving.
Founder of LFTS and lover of all things marine! Liv has been teaching freediving since 2018. She is a Wave 3 Instructor and encourages an overall understanding of the ocean in her courses. Because at the end of the day, we aren’t learning to freedive on a line for the rest of our lives... we want to be out there in the elements, surrounded by nature where real ocean awareness and skills come into play.

Tulamben is a small, peaceful coastal village on Bali’s northeast coast, best known for its easy shore diving and relaxed pace. It's quiet, surrounded by ocean and volcano views, and ideal for a focused freedive training trip.
There are limited ATMs in Tulamben, and not all places accept cards, so it's best to bring some Indonesian Rupiah in cash for small expenses like snacks, massages, or tips.
One of our instructors, Georgie, is a registered nurse and will be available to you at any time. Yes, there are local clinics in the area, and we have emergency procedures in place. For more serious issues, we’ll assist in getting you to a hospital in Amed or Denpasar. We also recommend having travel insurance that covers dive-related incidents.
Yes, travel insurance is mandatory for this trip.
Diving with your own gear is always more comfy and effective, so if you love what you currently use, please bring it!
Mask & snorkel
Fins
Weight belt (we can borrow weights from Apnea Bali)
Wetsuit - the water is 28-30 degrees, but we will be in the water for a long time and you will need sun protection. We recommend light 2-3mm wetsuits or spring suits.
If you have multiple options, bring them!
Hood & socks if you have them.
If you don’t have your own gear, that is ok! You will be able to borrow a wetsuit, mask, snorkel and fins from the local dive shop. If you would like to purchase your own mask and fins, please get in touch and we would be happy to help you.
